A Columbus mom is demanding answers from Columbus City Schools after she says her 11-year-old daughter was brutally attacked while riding the school bus home.
Gill says her daughter, a sixth grader at Mifflin Middle School was assaulted near Ontario and 21st Street Tuesday around 3;30pm by a group of girls, who should not have been allowed on the bus.Gill, "the bus driver, she didn't try to prevent it, and that's when it becomes a problem to me." Gill is now waiting to learn details from Columbus City Schools to see if that altercation is connected to Tuesday's assault, and why the suspects were allowed to jump on the school bus.Gill says after her daughter was attacked, she ran off the bus and called her relatives, asking them to meet her at the library branch in Linden.
"She was brutally stabbed in the face," said the 12-year-old's mother, who says her daughter needed 74 stitches and is recovering at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
