Columbus police report Wendell H. Lowe, 27, of Downtown, drove onto Route 161 the wrong way early Sunday from Sunbury Road, causing a fatal crash.
A Columbus man has been identified in a police traffic crash report as the driver of the wrong-way SUV that crashed head-on into a car early Sunday on Ohio Route 161, killing a Newark-area man and injuring another.
Erickson had exited Interstate 270 southbound and was on the ramp entering Route 161 just west of Sunbury Road with his passenger, James Jean-Charles, 35, of West Locust Street, Newark, when the crash occurred, the report states.
