The Columbus Jazz Orchestra will celebrate Independence Day weekend with the patriotic concert 'Red, White, & Blues.'
The Columbus Jazz Orchestra's"Red, White, and Blues" concert takes the stage of the Hinson Amphitheatre in New Albany at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5.
"Jazz is the most perfect concert you can go to on an American holiday because it is one of the original American artforms," said Katy Coy, CEO of the Columbus Jazz Arts Group."Jazz was born right here in the United States; it's part of American history and it's something that we all as citizens of the United States can be proud of on Fourth of July weekend."
For the concert, artistic director Byron Stripling will lead the Columbus Jazz Orchestra through a set of American hits such as"Sing, Sing, Sing""America the Beautiful" and a medley of U.S. service songs. "Not only is it amazing music, but it is super entertaining," said Coy."If you haven't been to a performance led by Byron Stripling, you will be in for a huge treat. He takes the audience on a ride; we've got history, we've got jokes, and any concert led by him is not only amazing music, but also just a really great time.
