For the first time, we heard the Columbus City Schools Board of Education talk in detail about its visit to nine schools on the list to be merged or closed.
The way Tuesday night's meeting was broken down was the board went through their notes about what they saw, heard, and experienced.School dress code by grade concerns about the closure and it would keep students from educational goalsstaff community concerns about middle school students being lumped in with HS studentsconcerns over a decline in enrollment.
“We don't want our families to feel like we're just suddenly done. We've made a decision. This is an ongoing, continuous process that we want to continue to cultivate family engagement, student input. And so I would say, you know, certainly I can understand the potential, you know, maybe frustration or maybe even, you know, the unknown.
