The Columbus Blue Jackets have finished building their coaching staff.
The Columbus Blue Jackets didn’t waste much time replacing Mark Recchi as an assistant coach. Just a few days after it was reportedBlue Jackets general manager Don Waddell announced that Mike Haviland and Scott Ford will round out their group of bench bosses. Haviland and Ford will join fellow assistants Steve McCarthy and Jared Boll and work under recently hired head coach Dean Evason.
Before coaching at various levels of hockey, including the ECHL and NCAA, Haviland was an assistant coach with the Chicago Blackhawks between 2008 and 2012. He helped lead the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup championship in 2010.
