Blockbuster.— Ian Rapoport November 4, 2025 The Colts were pegged to land at least one major trade for their ascent and playoff push, and Gardner could be the right player to do just that. Either way, the Colts have landed a massive defender in this trade. Gardner has played all four seasons with the Jets and has been named Defensive Rookie of the Year, a two-time First-Team All-Pro, and a two-time Pro Bowler. Through his career thus far, Gardner has picked up 201 tackles, one sack, 46 passes defended, and three interceptions. This also includes posting a career 54.2 completion percentage 77.5 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks. These figures are through the 2025 season thus far, and will be different by season’s end. The simple fact is that Gardner is a lockdown corner and has been one of the best in the NFL since he arrived in 2022. The Colts were already a favorite in the AFC, and this blockbuster move may have propelled them into being Super Bowl favorites. For more on the NFL and trade deadline news, head to Newsweek Sports.
