Smoke from numerous fires in the Canadian province of Alberta has rolled into Colorado Friday, giving Denver a ranking of third worst air quality of all major cities globally. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Education has issued an air quality health advisory alert as a result of the inflow of smoke across the Centennial State. As of 6:30 a.m.
Air monitors across northern Colorado and the Front Range showed high concentrations of particulate matter, which can be smoke, soot, ash or liquid particles that people can inhale. State health and air quality officials issued a “multiple pollutants” action day alert Tuesday that will last through 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The effects will be worse in Douglas, Jefferson, Arapahoe, Denver, Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties, but poor air quality is being seen across eastern Colorado, state officials said.Denver weather: Front Range’s bad-air streak ends as soaring temperatures ease slightly
