Grant has grown into a standout on UIW's defense, leading the team with five sacks entering a matchup against Houston Christian on Saturday.

When Deion Sanders was announced as the new coach at Colorado in December 2022, linebacker Devin Grant felt a surge of excitement run through many of his friends and family. For three years, Grant’s supporters faced a 15-hour drive to watch the Antonian product play a handful of snaps, if that, each week at Colorado . After countless cases of coaches telling him he was good enough to be on the field, a change in leadership might finally give Grant the opportunity he believed he deserved.

“He handles his business the right way, on and off the field. He’s an elite human being. He works at it on the field, and he’s starting to have some real success. That doesn’t surprise me.
