Democratic Denver Mayor Mike Johnston ridiculed GOP Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert after she criticized Denver's guide on how cities can help immigrants integrate into the community.In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Boebert accused Johnston's Newcomers Playbook of being a 'guide' on how to follow the Denver model of 'bringing illegals into a city.''I wish I was joking, but this is reality,' Boebert added.
Johnston's Newcomers Playbook on welcoming and aiding new immigrants was announced by his office in late April, but has only just received scorn from Republican figures after it was reported by conservative media.The tips include immediately providing shelter for new immigrants, assigning a case manager to each family and individual, and setting up a database of information.
