College student sentenced to for selling 73 guns to undercover cop
Shakor “Sha” Rodriguez, 23, was also sentenced to five years post-release supervision for trafficking 73 weapons and 40 high-capacity magazines from the South to his native Bronx and to Manhattan, prosecutors said.
“The influx of guns threatens the safety of Bronxites,” she said. “I thank our partners at the NYPD for intercepting these guns before they ended up on our streets.” Of the weapons the student moved — and sold to a cop who paid between $1,000 and $1,500 per gun — were 59 loaded firearms, according to prosecutors. The sales were targeted in Rodriguez’s former neighborhood on Weeks Avenue in the Bronx or on Allen Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, according to prosecutors.
