The 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship Game is set to take place in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
The CFP Management Committee announced Friday that the current 12-team format will continue through the 2026-27 season. “After ongoing discussion about the 12-team playoff format, the decision was made to continue with the current structure,” said Rich Clark, Executive Director of the CFP .
“This will give the Management Committee additional time to review the 12-team format, so they can better assess the need for potential change.” The Management Committee consists of the 10 FBS conference commissioners and the Notre Dame Athletic Director.
