Too many people pay too much money for a college education, studying the wrong things for their future. How to find your path in the educational thicket.

The cost of a college education can be gigantic. But lots of times, all that money does little to equip students for right role once they’ve graduated. Too many of them are clueless about how to use their education correctly. Lewis Walker, a financial planning and investment strategist at In light of the scandal that broke last month, where wealthy parents paid a lot of money to buy their kids admission into an elite college, the question arises: “Was it worth the price?”Exactly.

U.S. Census Bureau data showed, in 2016 dollars, that second year earnings post-graduation for an economics major at the University of Texas Austin, for example, were $37,100 for students in the 25th percentile; 50th percentile, $49,899; 75th percentile, $67,785. Earnings for economics majors were substantially higher compared to general biology, psychology, or sociology majors.And student loans are major burdens that a grad needs to pay off, so a better starting salary is a plus right there.
