College athletes are getting a payday, but the system is still ripe for exploitation

The good thing is that athletes, including the son of well-heeled football legend Deion Sanders, have unprecedentedon the skills that the collegiate athletics’ entrenched bureaucracy had denied even as most athletes struggled for pizza money for the weekend. That all changed after the Supreme Court ruled in 2021 that athletes could profit from their name, image and likeness.
