Singer-songwriter Ed Roland has nothing but love for Cleveland and is living the dream. His band just released album #12 - 'Here to Eternity' - and have #13 locked and loaded for a fall Record Store Day release. He has trouble sitting still, but Roland did just that earlier this year with Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer.

The album went double-platinum and peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. It also spawned the inescapable single-of-the-moment, “Shine.” The song led to the band being slagged as a “one-hit wonder,” whichRanking 38 varieties of Little Debbie treats from worst to bestand nearly two years of crisscrossing North America . Collective Soul toured extensively, serving as an opener for classic rock juggernauts Aerosmith and Van Halen.
“I was really starting to dwell in becoming a decent songwriter and had visions of us doing this until the Good Lord says, ‘Hey!’ So, it’s kind of cool, a great milestone and humbling but we can’t wait to get on to the next record.” Collective Soul performs during the grandstand show at the Jackson County Fair at Keeley Park on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022.“As a kid, I always dreamed of doing a double-album,” Roland said. “And that just sort of happened.”
Roland accounted for where Elvis would sing in the house and followed suit. He sang in the bathroom, the kitchen, out by the pool. Band members set up around the house.As fate would have it, their stay in Palm Springs coincided with the death of Presley’s daughter on January 12, 2023. The night she passed, the ceiling in her bedroom fell.“But truth is, nothing felt out of sync at all and we were in such a flow state.
“We all got signed to the same label and sort of grew up together,” he agreed. “Then our musical endeavors all shot skyward around the exact same time, too. Some serious bonding took place around that, which makes this ‘Summer Camp with Trucks’ tour feel especially fun and exciting.”
