Colin Allred doesn’t expect national party support in Texas election

National Republicans earmarked almost $3 million this week in ad reservations to boost U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in the November election.

Cruz’s support from the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the campaign arm of U.S. Senate Republicans, comes on top of Cruz’s $9.5 million ad reservation. Allred, who is trailing Cruz but within the margin of error in recent polls, said he doesn’t need any investment from Democrats in Washington.In an interview with reporters after the roundtable, Allred said every political race he’s run has been about Texans.
