Coleen Rooney 'set up Rebekah Vardy to regain the limelight', claims Peter Shilton's wife
THE wife of England great Peter Shilton yesterday bizarrely insisted the row between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy was “a set-up”.as the number one footballer’s wife.Stephanie Shilton, 51, married to England legend Peter, 70, questioned whether the infamous WAGatha Christie fallout was really a stunt to keep Coleen as no.
But Steph, who married ex-goalkeeper Peter, 70, in 2016, said their ultimate goal was to enable Wayne to break her hubby’s 125-cap England appearance record. In her since-deleted Facebook post, Steph said of the Rooneys: “I believe top of the list was to mastermind a charity England football match to knock Peter Shilton off being number one cap record holder.”Wayne denied any bid to topple the record after the game against the US, which won him his 120th and final cap.
