We chat with colehauser about Yellowstone season 5, touching on how John's governorship will affect the ranch, and the Rip and Beth flashbacks:
In Yellowstone season 5, Cole Hauser's Rip is facing a lot of change. At the end of Yellowstone season 4, Rip and Beth got married in a surprise ceremony typical of Beth's spontaneity. They also welcomed Carter onto the Yellowstone Ranch and, although Rip was tough on him at first, their relationship has shifted gradually.
Cole Hauser, So the feelings are what he said, which is he's concerned that all these people coming onto [the ranch]. It's new for him. The idea that there are crowds of people on the ranch - this is his backyard. All of a sudden, there are tons of different people. He's used to looking at cows and wolves and elk and deer. So I think it's new for him. And I love that Taylor wrote it that way.
I love that we get the flashback to what was one of [Rip and Beth's] first dates. Will we get to see more of those flashbacks this season? And how exciting was it to be able to explore that period of the relationship?
