The greatest potential for cold temperatures will stretch across portions of southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle, according to the National Weather Service.The NWS in Tallahassee's forecast showed the front will clear the region by Wednesday morning. Cold and dry air will settle in behind it, causing temperatures for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings to plummet to the upper 30s and low 40s with wind chills near or below freezing.
As of Tuesday, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry, and portions of Houston counties, including the City of Dothan, could see the first light freeze of the season on Thursday morning. Some areas of Coffee, Dale, Geneva, and Henry counties are already under a Freeze Watch. People are also reading… Due to the low humidity and elevated winds of 30-35 mph, a Fire Weather Watch has also been issued for southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama through Wednesday. Fire danger persists into Thursday, but winds are forecast to not be as strong.
High temperatures during this period are forecast to be in the mid 60s to lower 70s.
