SAN ANTONIO - Today is the entry point into an active 7-day stretch ahead of us with the weekend continued to be the highest rain chance of this pattern. At the moment, all is quiet in our region with partly sunny skies.
There are signs of possible developing storms along the high terrain in Mexico now and we'll watch this trend for our western zone counties. There is a cap of warm air above us which is resistant to storm development. It may have a tendency to weaken in the western half of our area. There is in the western half of our area, a level 1 of 5 "marginal" severe storm outlook where we could see a one or two strong storms. Otherwise, the rest of the area will have an isolated to scattered chance of a pop-up shower with partly sunny skies into sunset.Thursday starts cloudy with a few sprinkles or a shower then turns partly sunny. Later in the day, we'll watch our western third of the area where a couple storms could move in late day then weaken as they move east.Friday starts cloudy again with sprinkles or a shower. The day then turns partly sunny. The Texas dry line will move east toward our area late day and could be strong enough to kick up a couple showers or storms. The Storm Prediction Center did put a "marginal" severe storm outlook just into our region as we'll be on the southern edge of the risk for strong to severe storms. Odds increase as you travel north from our area Friday to see heavy storms. The weekend remains the target for our highest rain chances we'll see the next 5 days. A cold front will drop south into our area and kick up widespread showers and storms as it does so. There will be enough shear and instability before the front arrives for a strong to severe storm with wind and hail. The bigger impact could be areas of localized flooding in downpours or from training storms over the same area.Sunday will have the front to our south with a cooler northeast wind. Patchy rain or some thunder possible Sunday but being on the cool side of this front will limit the severe risk.Total rainfall over the next 5 days will be welcome news in our region. Don't forget, additional rain chances are on the table next week too until the big system kicks east of the area.BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A construction worker was killed after a wall collapsed at a work site in South Bexar County.Deputies were called around 1:44 p.m. TuesdaySAN ANTONIO — Authorities are searching for a missing 17-year-old last seen near the downtown area.Briana Guerra was last seen at 8 a.m. Monday in the 1100 blocAutopsy: Tony Gonzales staffer was intoxicated when she set herself on fire in Uvalde New details have emerged about the death of Regina Santos-Aviles, a staffer for U.S. Rep.
