While it may not look like it, the interstellar space between stars is far from empty. Atoms, ions, molecules, and more reside in this ethereal environment known as the Interstellar Medium (ISM). The ISM has fascinated scientists for decades, as at least 200 unique molecules form in its cold, low-pressure environment.

Will San Antonio Have Another Strong Cold Front This Year?As winter transitions to spring, temperatures have started to increase here in South Texas. Since Feb. 22, San Antonio has recorded 11 days with high temperatures of at least 80 degrees. That being said, a lot of us are not ready to say goodbye to the cold weather. Unfortunately for cold weather fans, strong cold fronts become less common in the spring, as opposed to mid-winter. Which brings up the question: Will San Antonio have another strong cold front this year? Or is the cold weather already done? To find the answer, let’s take a look back at history. Here’s what we found We looked through San Antonio temperature data from the past 30 years and focused on April and May. We found every instance where high temperatures dropped at least 15 degrees from one day to the next. If it did, we considered that to be a strong cold front. In the past 30 years, strong cold fronts have actually occurred in April quite often. In fact, April has had at least one strong cold front 60% of the time.
