Droughts in Brazil and Vietnam have drastically reduced coffee bean supply, leading to price hikes for popular brands. Global demand for coffee continues to grow.

Droughts in major coffee-growing countries have led to a significant decrease in coffee bean supply. This has resulted in price hikes for supermarket brands like Nescafé and Folgers. However, global coffee consumption continues to rise. Brazil, the world's largest producer of arabica coffee beans, experienced one of its worst droughts on record, causing widespread damage to coffee trees and impacting next year's harvest.

Vietnam, the top grower of robusta beans, also faced a severe drought followed by excessive rainfall. Scientists attribute these extreme weather events to climate change. The shortage of coffee beans, combined with financial speculation, has driven arabica prices to record highs. This situation is prompting U.S. coffee roasters and small businesses to carefully consider whether and when to increase their prices without alienating customers
