It was a real-life Glass case of emotion.
“It’s been in the back of my mind, and to be able to finally be told that I’m going kind of lifts a weight off my back,” Glass said. “It feels really good.”The emotion was understandable for the Canadian forward, who was the No. 6 pick in the 2017 NHL Draft — the first-ever selection made by the expansion Vegas Golden Knights.Glass was well on his way to meeting the high expectations set before him, making the Golden Knights’ 2019 opening night roster and scoring on his first NHL shot.
It was with the Admirals that Glass found his game again, posting a team-leading 62 points — 14 goals and 48 assists — in 62 games. An NHL roster spot still isn’t guaranteed. But on the brink of making it back, Glass couldn’t help but get to the brink of tears.
