PETALING JAYA: Code words were used by members of a crime syndicate to communicate with enforcement agency members on the take at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to identify foreigners that were to be allowed through without checking.
Sources said that investigations showed suspects from both terminals of the airport had received between RM500 and RM2,500 to bring in foreigners via"counter setting"."Through this modus operandi, enforcement agency members at both terminals will receive the names and photos of those being brought into the country by the syndicate via Whatsapp," the source said.
The bank accounts involved include those that belonged to people that had been directly involved as well as proxy bank accounts and those belonging to designated companies.
