In this Q&A, Johnson boys soccer coach David Johnson discusses the Jaguars’ upcoming playoff game against Austin Westlake.
The Express-News recently interviewed Johnson boys soccer coach David Johnson about the Jaguars’ region quarterfinal game against Austin Westlake on Tuesday night. Johnson’s Diego Robles has 34 goals and 12 assists, while Rodolfo Galvan has 11 goals and 15 assists. Q: How are you all preparing to face Austin Westlake? A: “We just have to be ready. We have to execute a game plan and make sure we are all on the same page and know what's expected of us.
There have been moments where I sit back, and I watch some goals and some things that we've done such as to beat Reagan with 10 men and score in the second half with 10 men. I sit back and I just kind of smile like, man, it's pretty incredible what these kids are doing. I struggle because in the moment, we're coaching, and in the moment it's game by game, and it's practice by practice.
