Former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski says Dan Hurley has a 'responsibility' to lead college basketball.
He took the lead on many issues facing the sport and was often a go-to quote for reporters seeking a weighty opinion on the state of college basketball.on The Rich Eisen Show, Coach K said Hurley’s new position within the sport was one of the reasonsto remain in Storrs, Conn. Hurley last month signed a six-year, $50 million extension at UConn that goes through the 2029-30 season.
College basketball has other capable leaders, including Kansas coach Bill Self, Arkansas coach John Calipari and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo, among others. Hurley and UConn enter this season with a legitimate chance to become the first program since John Wooden’s UCLA teams to three-peat. They have their final summer workout on Friday.
