A decision to close Newry swimming pool for six months across the school summer holidays has been taken during a confidential council meeting.

Following the AHC meeting, a council spokesperson added: "Essential works to address issues relating to the hydraulic system of the pool’s moving floor and the replacement of pool tiles will now commence.
Information on bookings and direct debit memberships is being made available on the council website, which includes adjustments to payments for the use of Newry Leisure Centre.
