This Sunday, CNN will recognize everyday heroes from around the world, including sisters Brooke and Breanna Bennett. The Bennett sisters, who started their organization on their 12th birthday in 2019, have distributed over 32,500 WIT KITS of menstrual, dental, and hygiene supplies to combat period poverty.

This Sunday, CNN will honor everyday people from around the world who are making extraordinary contributions to help improve the lives of others. Among them are sisters Brooke and Breanna Bennett , who have made it their mission to end “ period poverty .”on their 12th birthday in 2019. Five years later, their organization has distributed more than 32,500 WIT KITS of menstrual, dental and hygiene supplies .

“Women and girls miss school and work because they don’t have the products that they need and they end up using socks, tissues, which doesn’t work, and so it’s so important to get the word around and it’s so important to make this a priority.” said Brooke Bennett.It’s a recognition the sisters say they are proud of and its motivation to keep doing their work.

“When we first started Women in Training, we kind of just thought we were doing a little community service. But when organizations and people started to reach out to us, we realized that this is a big issue that nobody talks about and that we need to do something about,” Brooke Bennett said, adding, “You’re never too young to help out.”
