The Country Music Association had its 53rd annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Carrie Underwood hosted the show, along with "special guest hosts" Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. Apart from hosting, Underwood was also up for multiple awards, including the top prize of entertainer of the year, along with album of the year and female vocalist of the year.
Garth Brooks was the night's big winner after winning entertainer of the year award. Meanwhile, Kacey Musgraves and Luke Combs won the awards for male and female vocalist. Musgraves' single "Rainbow" also won the award for music video of the year.won album of the year, Dan + Shay for vocal duo of the year and Old Dominion taking home the award for vocal group of the year. by country duo Maddie & Tae. "Old Town Road " by Lil Nas X feat.
Musgraves performed during the show with Willie Nelson, while other performers included Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn with Brothers Osborne, Garth Brooks with Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Lady Antebellum and Halsey, Old Dominion, Blake Shelton and Thomas Rhett.
