Fun fact: If it wins, Brooks & Dunn will pull ahead of Vince Gill as the act with the most awards in CMA history. Right now, the two acts are tied at 18 awards each. Don’t you want to see Trent Reznor on the CMA stage? Seriously, while the other songs were all strong, “Old Town Road ” was the only one that qualifies as an “event”Brooks & Dunn’s career resurgence in 2019 was thanks, in part, to Combs.
