THE southwest monsoon or 'habagat' will continue to bring cloudy skies and rains in the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday.
Affected areas are the provinces in Mimaropa , which will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains over the next 24 hours, the weather agency said.Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, western Visayas and most parts of Mindanao may also experience scattered rains and thunderstorms as early as noon.
It added that the trough or the extension of the low pressure area being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility is also expected to affect the country in the next three days, which may bring rains over west of Luzon.'While it still has a low chance of turning into a tropical depression, the possibility that it may enter PAR is not being ruled out,' Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
