Just weeks after the Amazon Web Services outage took down much of the internet, it seems a technical problem with Cloudflare is causing problems online.
If you’re trying to access a website and you can’t get past an error message, it’s not you, it’s the internet. Some parts of the web are proving unresponsive because of an outage from Cloudflare. Here’s what’s happening.

More than 4,000 outages at the network were reported on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 18.A statement from the company read: “Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers. Further detail will be provided as more information becomes available.” Sites that have been affected in the last few hours include Spotify, X, PayPal, Save, Canva, Letterboxd and even ChatGPT, though many more are having intermittent problems requiring users to load the site multiple times before it will work. The outage also appears to have hit Amazon Web Services which, you may remember, crippled the internet in October.has published frequent updates on its status update page. Several hours ago, these suggested that services were beginning to recover, but a recent update, at 8.04 a.m. Eastern revealed a new problem: “During our attempts to remediate, we have disabled WARP access in London. Users in London trying to access the Internet via WARP will see a failure to connect,” it read.WARP is a Cloudflare service to create a secure, encrypted connection between a user’s device and Cloudflare’s network. It has now said that the issue that has caused the problem has been identified and a fix is being implemented. Additionally, at 8.13 a.m. Eastern, the company said, “We have made changes that have allowed Cloudflare Access and WARP to recover. Error levels for Access and WARP users have returned to pre-incident rates. We have re-enabled WARP access in London. We are continuing to work towards restoring other services,” though the identified issue has not yet been revealed and there’s no timeframe on when things will be back to normal.
