For some reason, those close-game scenarios that the M's usually thrive in are actually costing them.

"We had opportunities, the at-bats were good, we fought hard, we did what we could try to do to get those runs in, but it's a tough pill to swallow," Wilson said. By doing the same thing, Wilson obviously isn't referring to the outcome but rather the Mariners putting themselves in a position to win.
That's all you can ask for, really. For the first three months of the season, the Mariners won those games, for the most part.Twenty-four games to go, six games to make up.
