A push to recall elected officials in Whitehall is moving forward.

The Franklin County Board of Elections last week certified that petitions to recall Mayor Michael Bivens, Councilmember Amy Harcar, and Councilmember Lori Elmore had gathered enough signatures to move forward in the recall process.

The city clerk deemed them valid today.Recall petitions need signatures from at least 15 percent of the voters from the last election. In this case, that means the petitions needed at least 425 valid signatures. According to the board of elections, the petitions received 444 to 447 valid signatures. Between 24 and 27 signatures were ruled invalid.City Attorney Nicodemus previously told WSYX that petitions can be filed "for whatever reasons the electorate chooses to initiate a recall petition," and not just in cases of criminality or wrongdoing.Mayor Bivens and Council Members Elmore and Harcar sent statements after receiving the statements: Bivens: "Mayor Bivens received delivery of the petitions today. He will review the petition pursuant to the city charter and in accordance with the five-day timeline. In the meantime, his focus for the City of Whitehall continues to be on delivering results, building trust and moving Whitehall forward."Council Members: "Whitehall City Council members Lori Elmore and Amy Harcar are aware of the delivery of petitions and will respond in accordance with the city charter within the required five-day timeline."The family of a child who was struck by a vehicle while boarding a school bus at her bus stop accepted a $52 million settlement.Police investigating shooting; victim in critical condition Columbus police are responding to a shooting that left a victim in critical condition Monday afternoon.Few details were immediately available, but ABC 6 confirm
