Clitheroe Food Festival expansion with week of events across Ribble Valley towns and villages
This summer’s Clitheroe Food Festival could grow to include a week of smaller events in towns and villages across the Ribble Valley – and possibly have a new name.
In addition, some people outside the council have called for changes, such as events organiser Dan Johnson, who organises other fairs and markets. Ribble Valley Council’s Economic Development Committee will discuss options this week. Other idea include moving the food festival to another site, perhaps privately-owned land outside Clitheroe or the Clitheroe Castle grounds, which the council owns. Longridge, Chipping or the Royal Lancashire Show grounds could be options, the report adds. Also the festival could be renamed Ribble Valley Food Festival.
“Events would be hosted at various locations, with each host controlling bookings for each individual event. This would minimise the involvement of council administration.” with around 25, 30 or 50 customers. The climax of the week would be the big, established Clitheroe Food Festival.
