The Clippers and star Paul George are still far apart in contract negotiations entering into the offseason.
The Los Angeles Clippers enter the offseason in one of the weirdest situations in the entire NBA. After another early postseason exit, Los Angeles is set to see two of their three superstars enter into free agency. Both forward Paul George and James Harden can leave the franchise this summer, potentially leaving the Clippers with just an often-injured Kawhi Leonard. Between the two, Harden is more likely to return as George has been battling the Clippers over a new contract for months.
According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Georgie and the Clippers are still 'not on the same page' when it comes to a potential contract.'He's free to extend his contract with the Clippers right now, there's nothing stopping him from doing that, maybe he will. But obviously, he and the Clippers have swapped numbers and they are now on the same page.'If George and the Clippers can't reach an agreement, he will take his talents elsewhere.
