A climber reported missing in the Indian Peaks Wilderness was found dead Tuesday, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
Search and rescue crews recovered the body of a climber near Lone Eagle Peak in the Indian Peaks Wilderness on July 24, 2024. Search and rescue crews began looking for the missing man Tuesday morning after a caller reported an overdue climber in the Lone Eagle Peak area near Crater Lake in theto Pawnee Pass, Crater Lake, Lone Eagle Peak, Apache Peak and back to Brainard Lake, sheriff’s officials said in a news release Wednesday.
