A person died and another is seriously hurt after falling roughly 1,000 feet down a steep slope in Denali National Park and Preserve on Thursday night.

For a second year in a row, cruise ships have arrived early in Seward. The first cruise ship of the season docked on Monday, several weeks earlier than last year when the city welcomed its first ship on May 8.

An Oregon man convicted of murdering a 16-year-old in the 1970s was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Friday in Anchorage.Sarah Neely is born and raised in Alaska. She's a RN turned stay-at-home mom to her 3 kids, but is a full time caregiver for her 15-month old son, Colton who was born with a brain injury. She talks about the ups and downs of caring for a child with medical needs and is helping other families in her same situation feel supported.

The Anchorage Museum on Tuesday held a class on making yarn out of t-shirts. Organizers say the purpose of the class was to learn how to recycle materials during Earth Month.
