The Bremerton man was on a guided climb when he collapsed.
June 02, 2023 at 1:42 pm PDTThe man was 41 years old, and was on a guided climb on May 31 withclose to Mt. Rainier’s summit when he collapsed. According to the National Park Service, he was not breathing and did not have a pulse as efforts to revive him with CPR were unsuccessful.
AAI guides partnered with Rainier Mountaineering, Inc. and park service rangers to get the man’s body down off the summit the following day. A helicopter flew him off the mountain on the morning of June 1.
