During the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park, eight people jumped out on the field.

After the storming of the field, Climate Defiance celebrated and claimed responsibility,, “BREAKING: We have taken the field at the Congressional Baseball Game + play has FROZEN! Congress sends billions of public $$ to subsidize deadly fossil fuels — but the police are tackling us instead. This Chevron-sponsored game cannot continue. This is unconscionable.”

Police removed the eight disrupters from the game, and the game resumed. However, authorities stood around the perimeter of the field to ensure the safety of the players.According to Capitol Police, all eight people have been charged with federal offenses of interfering with a member of the U.S. Capitol Police.

Another protest broke out in the stands with people waving Palestinian flags. They were escorted out by Capitol Police while bystanders booed and chanted “USA!,” and, reportedly, “F-Hamas” Protestors jumped the wall at the Congressional Baseball Game then several other protestors who stood up in section 136 with Palestinian flags. Republicans replied by booing and chanting “USA!” and “F- Hamas”
