A Cleveland woman was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for killing a Cleveland State University professor in his home last year.
Dr. Todd Morgan was a professor at Cleveland State University. Morgan was shot at his home in Hudson , Ohio on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.CLEVELAND, Ohio –
“I’m very sorry,” Paschal told Morgan’s family in a courtroom statement streamed by WKYC, a news partner of Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer. “I hope one day that you will find it in your hearts to forgive me.” Authorities said Paschal shot and killed Morgan on April 19, 2023. A prosecutor’s spokesman did not indicate how the two were acquainted, saying only that they knew each other “for a limited time prior to the shooting.”
“He died for nothing,” Morgan’s mother, Sandy, told Paschal. “You didn’t even know him. You took the father from two beautiful children.”Morgan was shot in the head and torso and found dead in his home in the 300 block of West Streetsboro Street in Hudson on April 19, according to the office of the Summit County medical examiner. Authorities learned that something was wrong after Morgan failed to pick up his 4-year-old daughter at school.
