Some Winton Manor residents spent Christmas Eve waiting to be put up in a hotel after their apartments flooded. “They couldn’t shut it off,” one resident explained. “They didn’t know where to shut it off at. My understanding is that the management didn’t call them back.”“It took a long time for the building to put people up,” she said. “I think it was maybe 5, 6 o’clock at night. I was stuck, the security guard let us go in the back where they were at to let me warm up and dry off but for the most part, we were there all day until the evening to get to a dry and safe place.
“All my furniture is probably destroyed,” the other resident said. “It’s gonna have some kind of mold or something on it so all of that’s probably destroyed.”He said it was a terrible and unfortunate incident that was out of their control.
