Cleveland crested 78 degrees Tuesday afternoon, marking the warmest presidential Election Day on record in the last 100 years.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The temperature in Cleveland hit 78 degrees on Tuesday afternoon, marking both a record for the date and for any presidential Election Day in at least the last 100 years.Instead of plastering “I voted” stickers on jackets, people across the region were able to head outside often in short pants and short sleeves.
Election Day in 2008, when President Barack Obama won his first first presidential campaign, offered the warmest temperatures in Cleveland over the last few decades -- until Tuesday. Cleveland voters enjoyed a high temperature of 71 degrees on Nov. 4, 2008 “The weather does help,” Gachuk remarked. " We get more people to come out and do their civic duty when it’s nice out, especially when the sun is shining.”
