A Cleveland rapper is facing reduced charges after he took a plea deal in part of a prostitution case, according to court documents.
Dawud Sami faces reduced prostitution charges after plea dealUpdated: 7 minutes agoMonday, rapper Dawud Sami, who goes by the stage name of “Officially GP,” pleaded guilty to a charge of promoting prostitution in a plea deal.
As a result of the plea deal, charges of compelling prostitution, trafficking in persons, and another charge of promoting prostitution were all dropped. As a result of the charge, Sami, 43, was determined to be a tier 1 sex offender and has a parole of three years set. In a previous release, the attorney general’s office said Sami owns Red Karpet Entertainment on East 185th in Cleveland, and he allegedly branded women victims with “Red Karpet” tattoos.The guilty plea comes with the possibility of jail time to be determined at Sami’s sentencing.
