Officers and members of the Force Investigation Team responded to a call about a shooting involving a Cleveland police sergeant, and, upon their arrival, they found the 28-year-old man and the suspect with gunshot wounds, police said.

The 34-year-old suspect shot a 28-year-old man and are both currently at MetroHealth following the shooting that happened about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Belinda’s Nightclub on Madison Avenue near West 98th Street, Cleveland police said. Investigators say there was an altercation inside the nightclub and both the 28-year-old man and the suspect got into a fight outside of the club, police said.The sergeant was in his police cruiser doing paperwork outside of the club when he saw the suspect shoot at the man, police said.
