CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have released body camera video of a police shooting involving a Maple Heights officer on May 30th near East 93rd and Buckeye Road.
The man shot and killed by police was identified by the medical examiner as 22-year-old Datwuan Catchings. The video released by Cleveland police, which is the lead investigator on the shooting, starts with Maple Heights police in their cruiser.In the video, police hit pause to point out the man's right hand is empty, but grasping something in his left hand.An officer is heard yelling expletives while at the same time ordering the man to put his hands up."Got one running with a gun, running, chasing him," said the officer.
