A Brook Park resident called police Sept. 12 and said that a Cleveland man he knew jumped his backyard fence, entered his yard and tried to open the rear sliding-glass door to his house.

BROOK PARK, Ohio – A Brookdale Avenue resident called police at about 5 p.m. Sept. 12 and said that a 36-year-old Cleveland man he knew jumped his backyard fence, entered his yard and tried to open the rear sliding-glass door to his house.

The resident said the Cleveland man was demanding money the resident owed him. The resident told the man he didn’t have the money he owed. The resident managed to hold the sliding glass door shut so that the man couldn’t enter his house. The man threatened to return that night and kill the resident. Then the man drove away. The resident gave police photographs of the man he took as the man was leaving. Police identified the man by comparing his Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles photo with the photos the resident provided. The resident told police that he had borrowed $500 from the man. They agreed that he would pay the man $100 a month until the debt was resolved. The man was supposed to collect the $100 at the beginning of each month. However, the resident wasn’t home on the day in September that the man arrived to collect. Police went to the man’s home but he didn’t answer when they knocked on his door. They called but were unable to reach him.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
