Signs will indicate where the DORA begins and ends and which restaurants, bars, and businesses are participating.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - The city’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area in the Cedar-Lee District will go into effect on Friday, Sept. 27. Patrons will be able to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages within the designated area, which includes outdoor public spaces and participating establishments.
“A DORA is really going to bring this entertainment, food, and beverage district to life,” said Destiny Burns, owner of CLE Urban Winery and a supporter of the DORA. “It’s really going to enliven this whole business district to allow customers to move freely.” City officials said there will be signs to clearly show where the DORA begins and ends and which restaurants, bars, and businesses are participating. To purchase a drink in the DORA, you must show an ID and will pay a $1 surcharge. The surcharge collected will cover administrative costs and DORA cups. Downtown Chagrin Falls, East Fourth Street in Cleveland, Main Street in Kent, the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights, and Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls have all passed DORAs.‘I will not be party to the circus’: Eastlake mayor resignsThieves steal barbeque grill as well as a Cleveland man’s livelihood
