After months of uncertainty, the Division of Cannabis Control has given some dispensaries the green light to sell marijuana recreationally in Ohio starting next Tuesday.

“We’ve been waiting since the vote came through last November and it seems like on a month-to-month basis they trickle out bits of new information and then they take some information back so having an answer is phenomenal,” said Michael Hughes, General Manager at Shangri La Dispensary. “Medical patients here in Shangri La will essentially be treated as having a fast pass and they will not have to wait in the long line of recreational users so there will be two separate lines essentially. Medical patients will be able to come in and get their products and get in,” Hughes explained.“We’ve rolled out quite a few new systems for age verification,” he said. “You do have to be 21 years of age or older to purchase on the adult-use market.
