Cleveland City Council has just approved a plan to build 50 new modular homes in the city in five different wards and some are calling it a building block for the future when it comes to affordable housing. The homes are being built as part of a partnership with the city and Habitat for Humanity.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -

Longtime Cleveland City Councilman Michael Polensek tells 19 News that ten of the 50 new single-family modular homes could be constructed by the end of the year for Ward 8, on a 1.7-acre vacant lot located at Grovewood Avenue and East 164th Street. The homes would be directly across from Humphrey Park, “We’re going to get 10 news homes built on over 4,000 square foot lots. Good size lots that are affordable at about $180,000.
