Guests couldn’t wait to get into the warm confines of the Cleveland Botanical Garden to attend the opening day of the 16th annual flower show, Orchids Forever. Photos: David Petkiewicz,
People were lined up 30 minutes before doors opened Saturday morning for the show, which features thousands of orchids. The theme is Synergy and Survival.
“The theme of this year’s show tells the important story of the relationship between orchids and their pollinators. Taking care of the natural world is vital, and it begins with noticing and appreciating its delicate balance,” said Jill Koski, president and CEO of Holden Forests & Gardens, in a press release. “This year we prominently feature more exotic orchids, and you are greeted by them the moment you enter. We are a living museum, and orchids are an exquisite work of natural art.
The show runs through Sunday, March 13. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. It’s closed on Mondays. Tickets: $16 . Face masks and social distancing are required. The show includes in-person and online classes, including “Ask the Orchid Doctor,” “Behind the Scenes: Orchids Forever Photography Workshop,” “Basics of Orchid Growing and Care,” and others.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
